Smelling business

The most important category in term of sales generated through petrol stations in the first three quarters of 2008 are car air fresheners (Nielsen). The importance of this channel for selling air fresheners, though stall very high (45%), has dropped by 5% when compared to 2007.


According to Michał Jackowski, Operating Director, Dr.Marcus, store shelves excellently visualize saturation of the car air freshener market. – The store racks hardly ever display products of new manufacturers or importers of air fresheners. On the other hand, it is very difficult to remain on the shelves for a long time and win customer recognition.
 

 

 

 

 

The feeling in the air or the car air fresheners` market

The company which decided to make its presence in the home air freshener market is Dr.Marcus International Sp. z o. o. It extended its range of products with home fresheners SENSO HOME PERFUME in three aromas: Green Tea, Grapefruit and Floral Bouquet. The product is supposed to play a dual role: to freshen air and to decorate. “Even though in case of car air fresheners most sales are related to such most popular aromas as Anti-Tobacco, Lemon, New Car, Ocean, Vanilla, month by month we watch sales of perfume-based product increase. In response to such market demand, this year Dr.Marcus International launched Senso Passion and Senso Racing lines. Their scent formula is based on compositions used by global perfume leaders” – says Michał Jackowski, Project and Marketing Director in Dr.Marcus International Sp. z o.o.

 

 

 

 

Dr.Marcus implements Macrologic`s system

Macrologic S.A. signed a contract to implement ERP – Xpertis solution in Dr. Marcus. The implementation works began in July and are intended to be completed by the end of the year The contract with Dr. Marcus, car freshener producer and distributor, comprises a licence provision, implementation and training in Xpertis solutions by Macrologic. Under this contract finance, controlling, executive accounting, human resources, logistics and production software will be implemented in Dr. Marcus.
Xpertis is basically responsible for improving effective company management due to efficiently collecting information about the company status, improvement of planning processes and product cost accounting. The implementation of Xpertis Kontroling solution will enable smooth collection of information needed to take decisions, which affect the business profitability.

 

 

 

Spring came to the shops

According to the latest survey by auto Scan since some time ago sales of car accessories and cosmetics at petrol stations have increased. According to B.P.S. Consultants Poland data in 2004 at petrol stations such products were purchased by 13 and 15 per cent respondents respectively, that is by 4 and 2 per cent more than a year before. The increasing tendencies are acknowledged by the trade experts – in their opinion recently there has been a noticeable growth of sales of this type items. – Actually, the sales are growing. You can see that looking at air fresheners produced by our company – confirms Katarzyna Urbańska from Dr. Marcus International. In her opinion this growth is caused firstly by better positioning on display shelves or merchandising displays and secondly by loyalty promotions organized by petrol concerns.
